The Villa, built between the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th probably by the architect Stefano Nieri, in the XVIIIth century with the land and the farm, became the property of the Mansi family, one of the most noble and oldest "families" of Lucca and responsible for numerous renovations and enrichments throughout the property. While in 1812 it was bought by Elisa Baciocchi Buonaparte who was immediately captivated by the beauty and charm, since then, hosting illustrious members of the Bonaparte family became an integral part of the historical scenario of the time.
The complex includes habitable buildings - 1220 Manor Villa sqm, 3 Dependance derived from rural houses for a total of 310 sqm - and buildings to be restored: Farmhouse and rural buildings for a total of 865 sqm and private Chapel of 60 sqm.
